Play by Post gaming has always been something I enjoy. It allows for deep narrative exploration, thoughtful character development, and the flexibility to play at your own pace. However, managing game mechanics, tracking initiatives, and ensuring smooth gameplay can be challenging. That’s why I created this Cypher System bot. It takes care of the details so that you can focus on storytelling and role-playing.

   !check – Rolls a d20 against a difficulty number with assets, skill, and effort bonuses. !character – Displays your uploaded character sheet.
   !difficulty – Displays the difficulty chart.
   !format – Displays the format for various commands.
   !initiative – Rolls for initiative and tracks the order.
   !inittracker – Displays the current initiative order.
   !intrusion <character_name> – Logs a GM intrusion.
   !remove_initiative <character_name> – Removes a character from the initiative tracker.
   !status – Displays a quick status of your character.
   !upload – Uploads a character sheet in JSON format.
   !roll – Rolls dice in the format XdY (e.g., 1d20, 2d6).
   !recover – Rolls for recovery and updates the character’s stat pools.
   !setgm <@user> – Sets a user as the Game Master.
   !add – Adds points to a pool.
   !spend – Spends points from a pool.
   !removexp <character_name> – Removes XP from the character.
   !release – Releases the character from your profile.
   !describe <ability_or_skill> – Describes an ability or skill from the character sheet.
   
   Type !help command for more info on a command. You can also type !help category for more info on a category.

Enhancing Your Play by Post Experience

There have been times when I spent hours crafting an NPC speech, only to find my players not responding. They were stuck because I hadn’t given them any clear direction.
